Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Resume Match. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The short version

Packs are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. There is nothing to cancel.
Credits from a pack are valid for 90 days from purchase and then expire.
Job search has a per-day fair-use limit that resets at midnight UTC.
Scores are estimates and assessments, not guarantees of any outcome.
Use it for your own job search. Do not resell it, scrape it, or attack it.

1. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the details on your account and for keeping your password secret. One person, one account. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

You keep ownership of everything you put in: your resume content, the documents you upload, and the job adverts you paste. You grant us only the permission we need to operate the service — storing your content, processing it to produce tailored versions and reports, and generating the documents you download. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

2. What the service does, and what it does not promise

The service rephrases, reorders and reformats your own material to align it with a job advert. It does not add qualifications, employers, dates or skills you did not provide. A verification pass removes content that cannot be traced back to your master resume, and the tailoring report tells you what was removed.

Compatibility scores are estimates. They are computed by comparing the text of an advert with the text of your resume. They are not a probability of being hired, not a prediction, and not advice. Employers choose candidates on grounds no tool can see.

ATS scores are our own assessment. They come from a published rubric that measures keyword coverage, formatting, readability, structure, quantified impact and job alignment. They are not your score in any employer's applicant tracking system, and no third party can reproduce a specific vendor's behaviour from outside that vendor.

We do not guarantee interviews, offers, or that any particular application will be read by a human. You are responsible for reviewing anything you send before you send it. Always read the tailored version before submitting it to an employer.

3. Packs, credits and payment

Access to the paid features is sold as one-time packs of credits. Each pack grants a fixed number of credits of specific types (resume tailoring, HR interview rounds, technical interview rounds) for a stated price. Buying a pack is not a subscription and does not renew.

Credits expire 90 days after purchase unless the pack description states otherwise. The expiry date is written on the ledger entry when the credits are granted, and it is visible in your credit history from the moment you buy.
We warn you before credits are about to expire, on the billing page, so a lapse is never a surprise. It remains your responsibility to use credits within their validity period.
Credits are consumed when an operation succeeds. If a tailoring run or an interview round fails, the credit is released back to your balance. A hold placed while an operation is running is not a charge.
Credits are spent soonest-to-expire first, so a newer pack is not consumed while an older one lapses.
Prices are shown at checkout in the currency stated and are taken from our server-side pack definition. Changing a pack's price later does not change what an existing order bought.
Refunds: if a payment succeeded but the credits were not delivered, contact us and we will either deliver them or refund that payment. Where a refund is issued, the unspent credits from that order are revoked.

4. Job search fair use

Job search is not metered from your credit wallet, because its cost is API quota rather than model usage. It is instead capped per day: a free account gets 25 searches a day and an account that has purchased a pack gets 100. The cap resets at midnight UTC and is displayed on the job search page.

Repeat searches for the same query within the cache window are served from stored results and do not count against your daily limit. Automated, scripted or bulk use of the search endpoint is not permitted, and the limit exists precisely to prevent it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

submit content you do not have the right to submit, including another person's resume;
use the service to produce materially false claims about your experience for a real application;
resell, sublicense or white-label the service, or provide it to third parties as your own;
scrape, crawl or bulk-download the service, or work around its rate limits;
attempt to access another user's data, or probe, disrupt or overload the service;
use the service where doing so would break the law that applies to you.

We may suspend or close an account that does any of these, and where the behaviour is unlawful we may report it.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service running, but it is offered as-is and without a service-level guarantee. Features may change, and a feature that depends on a third-party provider may be withdrawn if that provider changes its terms. If we withdraw a paid feature you have credits for, we will refund the unused portion or replace it with an equivalent.

Where this deployment is running stub providers, the app says so prominently: synthetic job postings are labelled as sample data, deterministic output is labelled as not being AI, and simulated payments are labelled as simulated. Those labels are part of the service, not decoration.

7. Ending this agreement

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: resumes, tailored versions, generated documents, uploaded files, transcripts, applications and credit history are erased. See the privacy policy for what is retained and why.

We may end this agreement if you materially breach it, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice and refund unused credits.

8. Liability

The service is a writing and research tool. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost opportunities, or for the outcome of any application you make. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
